UBC Learning Exchange

Yesterday Celina, Jen and I had the opportunity to visit with Margo Fryer at the UBC Learning Exchange at 612 Main Street in Vancouver.

UBC’s Learning Exchange is a community engagement initiative based in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

It plays a role as facilitator and convener between various groups in and outside of the downtown eastside community with the goal of building the community in a positive way. It brings students and other members of the UBC community to inner city schools and non-profit organizations where they contribute to community programs while learning about important social issues. The Learning Exchange is a catalyst for the growth of Community Service Learning at UBC.
